===male and female swamis===
In the mainstream Hindu tradition of sannyasa, some teachers do not use different titles for their male and female disciples as Osho does, but call them all swamis. Most will still be male but Satyananda's use of the term is meant to be inclusive of all. The blurb for the first edition of ''The Laughing Swamis'', quoted from Satyananda, used male pronouns for the swami who died but this appears now to have been incorrect. Further research, Haridas says, has revealed that "At least one of these swamis is now female. Maybe all three were". The revised edition in 2023 notes this change and the wiki's blurb has accordingly been updated. -- doofus-9 01:59, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
