This letter is one of a remarkable series of over 2650 letters amassed in 1983 to support Osho's attempt to get permanent resident status in the US at the time of the Oregon ranch. The image is reproduced here with the kind permission of The Oregon Historical Society. To Whom it May Concern, On March 31st, 1983, I became one of Bhagwan’s disciples. I know about Bhagwan through some of His books. His approach, which says, be affirmative to everything in life, has given me hope. Even if there is evil, it must be necessary for us. We will be able to see real goodness only, when we experience what evil is. We should not be afraid, even of evil. Bhagwan's work must be a great experiment for the coming 21st century. Only people who have genuine intelligence can realize this. It is necessary for us to make this experiment happen, so people can I will vacillate no more.
