Osho Manjusha has grown into a well known German meditation center near Dresden, in the east of Germany.

"Manjusha" is Sanskrit and means little treasure chest. This name was given from Osho in 1987 for a small meditation center in Wales/ U.K., founded by Mahamudra (Hauke Messerschmidt) and Dharma Param. As the death of Osho is drawing near, the center in Wales is closed and both move to Pune/ India, where they start with friends to run a kids commune [1]. 1993 few of this crew settled down near Dresden in the Ore Mountains to create a place for Osho meditations for people in the east of Germany. Since more and more people felt attracted by the deep understanding of Mahamudra, the spirit of Osho and his active and silent meditations, the reconstructed house in Höckendorf got too small for the fast growing Commune. In 1999 a new property in Schmiedeberg was found, comprising an area of 30,000 sqm, surrounded by old trees, meadows and a pond [2]. Mahamudra, Dharma, the (first 18 then up to 35)Communis and lots of friends not only demolished 4 former buildings but created within 5 years a completely new built meditation center with an oval shaped meditation hall and 3 new houses [3]. The name Osho Manjusha became well known for its quality of meditations, retreats, personal transformation processes and festivals.

Up to now 6 daily meditations take place to join in [4]. Silent Retreats are held in springtime, July (even a 3 week retreat) and in autumn, offering also the choice to take part only one or more days. The program [5] consists of meditation weekends, creativity events and a wide range of possibilities combining holidays or a relaxing stay with meditations [6]. The prices are moderate, the accommodation fine (from shared rooms in the new building to single rooms or the guest-suite with own bathroom and huge terrace)and the food delicious - as well as for vegetarians and none-vegetarians. worker are welcome if work is available, also half-day working is possible and mostly a good idea to enjoy also everything else.

Since 2006, when Mahamudra left her body, the commune is in an constant flux and change. Unchanging seems to be the energy and special atmosphere, felt even by those who never met Osho or Mahamudra at lifetime. Sitting in the meditation hall is something unique and it´s easy to feel at home just by oneself. Spiritual healing is happening at this place, open for everyone. Almost all Osho videos and many original Osho books are in the Manjusha Library. The Manjusha Bazar is worthwhile and offers meditation items, meditation chairs, Cds, books, incense and much more [7].

In Dresden you may like to visit the Osho Manjusha New Dawn Meditation Center [8], there are also daily meditations and nice accommodation available, also for guests who just like to visit Dresden.
